The Pisces new moon on Thursday, February 27 at 6:44 PM CST ushers in Eclipse Season 2025, a time of portals and shifting timelines.
This Pisces new moon is taking place while Pisces is packed with action. The North Node, Saturn, Mercury, and Neptune are all currently transiting through Pisces.
Jupiter is within a three-degree square with the Sun and Moon, offering a necessary but painful expansion of all the things we’ve hoped to keep buried where no one can see them, not even us.
Pisces rules the things that are unseen, like spirit, emotion, the depths of the ocean, and even institutions which are shrouded in mystery, such as the prison system and spy networks.
The North Node entered Pisces in January and will remain in that sign for 18 months. The North Node in Pisces is calling humanity to look within the shadowy depths of the subconscious mind and to connect deeply with emotion and spirit in order to find our way.
The South Node is in Virgo opposite the North Node in Pisces. Virgo is practical and Pisces is ethereal. Pisces rules dissolution and Virgo rules disintegration. Pisces also rules prophecy and Virgo co-rules communication with Gemini, where Jupiter is stationed direct.
With Neptune, Mercury, and Saturn all within the sign of Pisces, we are preparing for something big shifting in the direction of creative Pisces and away from logical Virgo.
Those who follow mundane astrology may be aware that we are nearing the end of the Age of Pisces. Each Age lasts 2160 years and holds within it twelve Eras of 180 years, also corresponding with the zodiac signs. Since 1980, we have been within the last Era of the Age of Pisces, which is the Era of Pisces. That’s a double dose of the watery depths of Pisces.
Since last fall, I’ve been writing about how important this North Node in Pisces is for spiritual practitioners and I feel validated by the release of the Telepathy Tapes around this time, a podcast series that is revolutionizing our understanding of human and collective consciousness.
Today’s is the first of two new moons in Pisces which we will experience while the North Node is also in Pisces. These are super charged new moons for delving into the subconscious mind, planting seeds for emotional and spiritual evolution, and tapping deeper into our intuition and psychic abilities.
I highly recommend journaling deeply today on how you wish your spiritual and intuitive gifts to evolve. Next year, when the next Pisces new moon comes, return to your journal and see how far you have come in just one year’s time.
This Pisces North Node is bringing us a triple lunar eclipse series, with a lunar eclipse in Pisces taking place each fall in 2024, 2025, and 2026, during each Pisces full moon. This hasn’t happened in over 100 years, usually they come in sets of two.
Pisces rules the subconscious mind and mysticism and the Moon rules our emotions and inner world, so this new moon is bringing all the unseen things up to the surface. You may be feeling a heightened sense of emotion, or like your grasp on reality is a little tenuous.
This can be unsettling, especially if you’ve struggled with your mental health in the past, but if we release the fear and embrace the journey of feelings, you’ll find that the unknown is not really all that scary.
You may find yourself coming into deeper communion with your deepest desires and soul longings during this new moon. In our hyper-rational world, feelings can be scary, but those feelings are exactly what we need to embrace in order to move forward on our path of purpose. Our desires connect us with the divine.
Logic and rationality suffer reduced utility in Pisces energy. Pisces teaches us the power of our subconscious mind and how all creation started with a formless thought. The phone that you are reading this on started as just a thought in someone’s mind.
The formless is an absolutely necessary step in the process toward structuring anything, and that’s no less true for structuring a new reality. We often forget this in our modern manufactured lives of convenience and instant gratification. Virgo is the practical aspect that materializes the thoughts of creativity governed by Pisces.
With the South Node in Virgo, it reminds us that disintegration is necessary before reinvention can take place. Virgo is ruled by Mercury, who is also in Pisces. Mercury will go retrograde in March, the theme of which is reinvention and creative destruction. The old must crumble before the new can be established.
While the old paradigm crumbles as its out-dated systems self-destruct, we have the power to consciously determine how we wish our new reality to look. We are not powerless beings tossed about on a sea of chaos, we are conscious collaborators with spirit and, in fact, we are the physical beings who are here precisely for the purpose of birthing a new paradigm.
Saturn is in Pisces during this tectonic shift of consciousness to bring structure to the formless and discipline to the chaos. Being conjoined with Mercury, there is a swiftness added to the process, an urgency to make the final shifts spiritually to become ready for the big changes on the horizon.
The moon square Jupiter brings a painful expansion of everything that’s below the surface. It’s forcing us to become aware of what’s down there, of things that have been pushed below the surface, ignored, or overlooked. Jupiter is a gentle giant who brings abundance and luck, so we know that this harsh angle is helping and not harming us, despite how it feels.
This balance of the themes of matter and spirit shows us that as the old paradigm falls around us in the physical, we must also let it fall apart within our minds so that we may manifest a new reality. We cannot deconstruct the systems of oppression that surround us until we deconstruct those systems within our minds.
We can thank Pisces for giving us the creativity to imagine a new future and Saturn for helping us tap into the discipline needed to create rituals which bring those thoughts into form.
Mercury in Pisces is helping quicken the spread of information on spiritual advances, through podcasts and social media, and Neptune drinks her last sips of nourishing water at home, Pisces, before heading into the arid land of Aries at the end of March.
