THE PRIESTESSES ARE AWAKENING
THE NORTH NODE IN PISCES
The north node will be returning to Pisces from January 2025 to July 2026. The nodes return to each sign only once every 19 years. So, if you were born between December 2, 1987 and May 21, 1989 then your north node is in Pisces and you will be experiencing your second nodal return. If you were born between June 22, 2006 and December 14, 2007, then this will be your first nodal return in Pisces.
The north node is considered the path of evolution. It’s the direction your soul wants to move toward in this lifetime. Your south node represents who you were in your previous life and what you’re moving on from. You’ve been there done that and now your soul is ready for something new.
If your north node is in Pisces then your south node will be in Virgo, because they are opposite one another. With this placement, your deepest desire is to embrace your spiritual and emotional sensitivities, strengthen your intuition and trust your psychic gifts.
Your south node in Virgo means that you’ve come from a past life where you may have been a scientist, lawyer, or doctor where your faculties of logic predominated and your job required you to shut down things like feelings and emotions so that they wouldn’t interfere with your practical work.
Now, in this lifetime, you are craving spiritual enlightenment and you want to learn how to trust your inner knowing and find your own personal truth rather than prioritizing external frameworks in your day-to-day life.
Following your north node path can be tricky though because your south node feels more comfortable. You already have the skills and knowledge to succeed by going in the direction of your south node, and so many people follow the path of the familiar and neglect the uncomfortable path that one must walk in order to grow.
But the thing is, we are only going to find true satisfaction in this lifetime if we align with our north node path of purpose. Following our south node may be easier at first, but it will ultimately lead to stagnation and misery.
I was headed toward my south node in Virgo for most of my twenties as I put myself through college and grad school in the hopes of becoming a policy official and expert on international relations. It was an important part of my journey and I gained valuable knowledge and skills, yet I was miserable and unfulfilled, no matter how many opportunities came my way (and there were plenty).
I even had the opportunity to work for the government. I couldn’t figure out why at the time, but the thought of going any further in that career path began to fill me with dread. Without knowing why, I turned down an official job offer to serve as a nuclear policy analyst for a U.S nuclear research facility. I had all the skills and talents they wanted, but my heart wasn’t in it.
I started to figure out what I didn’t want, but figuring out what I did want was another question. It took my Saturn return and Pluto conjunct my natal moon at the same time in order for me to course correct. The transition was a painful one, but I am eternally grateful that I had the strength to keep going because now I can truly say that I am fulfilling my destiny in this lifetime. The peace and calm in my soul is all the confirmation I need.

On a positive note, our south node has a golden shadow (coined by Jung) which is the combination of skills and talents we developed in that previous life. Although our souls desire a shift in direction in this lifetime, we can still take the talents we gained through those previous life experiences and bring them with us. There’s nothing wrong with using our strengths to support us on our new destiny path. I, for one, know that my skills as a scientist in my previous life have been a great help to me in my career as an astrologer.
Now, the Pisces north node return is a time when the pull of that destiny path is amplified and people with this placement may experience heightened spiritual sensitivity and a strengthening of their intuition. Especially if you have already begun taking on spiritual practices and learning about mystical principles and traditions.
Yet, this north nodal return to Pisces is going to be unique because for three years in a row, 2024–2026, we will experience a lunar eclipse in Pisces each fall. And an eclipse in Pisces for three consecutive years has not taken place for over 100 years — since the Pisces north node return of 1913-1915.
The year 2024 brought us a partial lunar eclipse on September 17. The year 2025 brings us a total lunar eclipse on September 7. And the year 2026 brings us another partial lunar eclipse on August 28. All in Pisces.
This pattern reminds me of the symbol of the Triple Moon Goddess representing the phases of womanhood: maiden, mother, and crone. The maiden embodies the energy of the waxing moon, the mother is represented by the full moon, and the Crone is the embodiment of the waning moon.
This tripartite aspect is often revered as Hekate, the goddess of witchcraft and the crossroads. However, she also appears in other ancient cultures as Selene, Diana, or Artemis. She embodies the divine feminine.
Her lesson is that a powerful woman understands and embraces each phase of her life and, as such, never grows tired of the journey, nor lashes out in impatience or jealousy. As a result, she reserves her energy for strengthening and enhancing her spiritual powers.
Pisces is the archetype of the mystic and the dreamer. She is the spiritual healer. In mystic traditions, it is the feminine energy which heals and nurtures. While the north node returns to this sign, we will find that our spiritual gifts are strengthened.
And there is another sign that this north node return will be a special one compared with other recent returns to Pisces.
Since I am a devotee of Hekate, I often like to check the transits of the asteroid named for her. Hekate takes 1,980 days to make one full orbit around the Sun. That’s almost 5 and a half years.
In spite of the disparate orbits of the North Node and Hekate, they will be in conjunction during this Pisces north node return. That conjunction will become exact in the summer of 2026 and they travel in unison in a cosmic partner dance until mid-November.
The north node is the path of destiny and Hekate is the goddess of witchcraft and magick. At the time of my nodal return, they are exactly conjunct, and as a devotee, I know this is no coincidence. This conjunction will be a once in a lifetime instance.
Some people may scoff and insist that asteroids aren’t significant enough to have any real impact on our lives. But if astrology shows us anything, it’s that everything happens for a reason.
I interpret this conjunction as a sign from the goddess herself that she is here to inspire and guide the healers and mystics who are coming into their gifts and accepting their personal powers. After all, the spiritual, emotional, and intuitive is the realm of the feminine and, historically, women have been punished as witches for harnessing these powers.
For centuries, Western religious authorities have demonized women who embraced their knowledge of the healing powers of nature as “witches” who must be burned at the stake. So “witchcraft” may be an uncomfortable word for people with a religious background.
But it’s vital to shed any fear or shame surrounding the powers of witchcraft because the word has been demonized by the very institutions and authorities which are devastating Mother Nature and planet Earth for personal financial gain. Women and healers embracing their natural gifts will be vital for the healing and rebuilding of a better world.
On this first Pisces eclipse, in 2024, we are already being nudged to embrace our spiritual callings and leave behind self-doubt and the illusion of powerlessness.
During the partial eclipse in Pisces on September 17, the Moon, the symbol of the divine feminine, is conjunct Neptune in retrograde— the modern ruler of Pisces who is the archetype of the mystic, healer, and dreamer. Neptune in retrograde is about shattering illusions.
It may be a good time to ask ourselves about what illusions have we constructed surrounding our personal and spiritual power. How about this one, “Nothing I do matters.” Or this one, “I’m just one person, how could I possibly change anything?”
The illusion of personal powerlessness is a fantasy all in itself. If we convince ourselves that we are powerless, then we can feel better about doing nothing while the world burns around us. But if people are powerless, I wonder why state governments spend billions of dollars every year on propaganda and indoctrination to keep people in a state of passivity.
Eclipses are also times of letting go and transmuting our pain into action. What would change in our lives if we reclaimed the time we waste in hopelessness toward becoming who we truly want to be in this lifetime? This eclipse energy is pushing us to take concrete action on learning how to harness our gifts and speak our truth so that we can begin to shift the tide, one person at a time.
In 2025, the total lunar eclipse and full moon is at 15 degrees of Pisces on September 7th. The moon will also be conjunct the North Node, which is at 18 degrees of Pisces. This brings MAX VOLUME of Pisces energy: spirit, intuition, and emotion. If you felt the spiritual intensity during the Pisces eclipse in 2024, as I certainly did, 2025 will be even stronger. And it’s taking place right after one of the most important ingresses of our lifetimes.
In March 2025, Neptune is moving from Pisces, where it has been since 2011, into Aries. This transit brings conflict, war, and disruption. The last time Neptune entered Aries was in 1861 when the American Civil War, the Franco-Prussian War, and the Russo-Turkish War all took place, as well as countless uprisings against colonial Europe all over the world. (Read more on this ingress in my blog post “There’s a Shift in this Reality”).
In July 2026, the Pisces nodal return will be nearing its end, but if we have been working hard to harness this energy for these past few years, then we will be able to carry on in our self-sovereign power, unshakable.
There is a reason our spiritual powers are increasing and why we are being called to wake up and take action. It’s not just for personal growth, although that is important in itself. We are growing into our intuitive gifts so that we can be prepared for the shifts that are coming in society and the upheavals that will be taking place across the globe as the old paradigm falls away and makes way for something new and better in the age of Aquarius.
